> Monero.com is a website and a free, open-source, non-custodial Monero (XMR) wallet app for iOS and Android, made by Cake Labs LLC, the developer of Cake Wallet. The site explains what Monero is, lets people buy or exchange XMR, lists merchants that accept Monero, and aggregates Monero news. Monero.com is not the official website of the Monero Project; that is https://www.getmonero.org.

## About Monero (XMR)

- Monero is an open-source cryptocurrency with its own blockchain and a single token, XMR.
- Every Monero transaction hides the sender (ring signatures), the receiver (stealth addresses) and the amount (RingCT with Bulletproofs+). Transactions are relayed with Dandelion++.
- Monero is mined with RandomX, a CPU-friendly proof-of-work algorithm. There was no premine; about 150,000 XMR is issued to miners per year (tail emission).
- Monero has no company or foundation behind it. It is community-run; the Monero Core Team maintains essential infrastructure.
